Nakiri

EDIT JAPAN

The Nakiri, a vegetable knife, is meticulously designed for precision when cutting vegetables into strips, chunks, and finely chopped pieces, thanks to its broad blade and flat, rectangular tip. Slightly weightier than Santoku knives, the Nakiri excels in tackling hard foods like pumpkin. Research indicates that vegetable preparation stands as the most time-consuming task in both domestic and professional kitchens. A quicker and more efficient vegetable cutting process contributes to the enhanced flavor and presentation of the dishes. We invite you to relish the art of vegetable cutting with the specialized Nakiri knife, making your culinary experiences not only efficient but also a joyous celebration of precision and flavor.

We recommend to buy it together with its corresponding sheath (sold separately).

Description

The SKD11 steel is renowned for its exceptional hardness, ranking among the top three sharpest knives in our indigo (Ai) kitchen knife collection. Although not classified strictly as stainless steel, it boasts rust-resistant properties, and its unadorned appearance contributes to its popularity as a steel material. Indigo dyeing, known for its antibacterial and deodorizing qualities, has long supported our daily lives. The 'Ai Kitchen Knife' seamlessly integrates this technology, creating a product that excels in both functionality and visual appeal.

This knife represents a harmonious blend of Sakai cutlery, a longstanding tradition in Osaka, and indigo dyeing deeply rooted in Tokushima's history. Through the 'Craftsman Collaboration,' artisans from diverse regions, each employing unique techniques, unite to enhance the knife's value by synergizing their respective skills. The Ai knives initiative is not just a product; it's a project with a broader vision of revitalizing traditional Japanese craftsmanship, bringing benefits to multiple production areas through a singular, carefully crafted item. We invite you to appreciate the beauty and skill embedded in this collaborative masterpiece.
