Hello, this is EDIT JAPAN

In 2015 Akiyuki Sakamoto established EDIT JAPAN, a company that supports Japanese handcrafting culture. The name "EDIT JAPAN" was chosen as it reflects the founder's wish to review and incorporate Japanese design and craftsmanship, in creating handmade products that emphasize the idea of "revisiting the appeal of Japan."

Re-EDITing values of Japanese craftsmanship: What makes EDIT JAPAN unique is that they apply the techniques of traditional Japanese craftsmanship to products designed to suit modern lifestyles.

Their products are a collaborative effort between multiple artisans. The handles are carved by woodworkers then passed along to indigo dyers who give the knives their unique color as well as waterproof treatment, and the blades of the knives are made by metal workers who specialize in Japanese knives.

By collaborating with artisans from different fields, EDIT JAPAN is creating more than just everyday objects, they are amplifying the beauty of what already exists to inspire positive emotional experiences.
